"When you don't go within, you go without." - Yogi Bhajan
I assume if you are presently reading this, you have made a step toward healing and I am glad for it. Please take a moment (or several) to explore not only who I am as a mental health and wellness practitioner, but also what services are available to you.
As a quick overview, I currently offer individual therapy from a person-centered, holistic, and spiritual perspective in East Memphis. I primarily specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, and dissociation; however, I also work with other psychological and phase of life concerns including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, co-dependency, grief/loss, and chronic pain/illness. My approach often blends elements of EMDR, hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and parts work/inner child/shadow work with emphasis and awareness of the importance of healthy attachment.
Dr. Jennifer Drabowicz is a licensed professional counselor with mental health service provider designation in the state of Tennessee. Additionally, Jennifer is a certified KRI Kundalini Yoga Teacher and an Approved Clinical Supervisor with the Center for Credentialing and Education (an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors). Jennifer is also trained in EMDR and is certified in Heart-Centered Clinical Hypnotherapy. Jennifer works at the University of Memphis as a visiting professor in the Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research department in the College of Education training future master's and doctoral-level clinicians.
Jennifer graduated with her master's degree in Community Agency Counseling in 2010 and her doctoral counseling degree in 2017. She has significant experience working with at-risk adolescents and their families. Specifically, Jennifer has experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with trauma/PTSD, developmental trauma, dissociation, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief/loss, some personality disorders, and co-dependency using a unique blend of EMDR, inner child/shadow work, hypnotherapy, and Internal Family Systems. Jennifer also deeply believes in incorporating spirituality into treatment for a deeper and more meaningful experience that often leads to a more fulfilling life, though the incorporation of spirituality into your work is entirely your preference.
Personally, Jennifer is a devoted bookworm, avid animal lover, and Kundalini yoga and meditation practitioner. When she is not busy running her counseling practice, Jennifer remains as active as possible in the local animal rescue community, loves spending time with her family and "furkids", devotes time to supervising and teaching future counseling professionals, and presents at local, regional, or national conferences.
Currently Jennifer provides only individual counseling services for adults. Adolescents are seen on a case-by-case basis. Sessions can occur in office or online.
Insurances currently accepted: Cigna, Humana, BCBS, Amerigroup, BlueCare, Behavioral Health Systems, Aetna, United/Optum, and ComPsych.
